Waste disposal concept for the Munich office and commercial quarter – Die Macherei

In the early stages of planning the redesign and reconstruction of the Temmler site in Munich, investors were already searching for a waste disposal expert. ELOGplan was commissioned in the middle of 2017 to work on a draft concept for waste disposal and to be included in the planning stages for the three participating architecture firms. Due to the complex and dense building development, the multi-layered use of the site and the diverse range of tenants, the most important task of all was to use the space cleverly to minimise the amount of land used for the recycling centre and to select the most suitable waste disposal logistics plan for the building complex. ELOGplan’s waste disposal plan significantly reduced the originally planned amount of land used and became part of the building application submitted at the end of 2017. “Die Macherei” is an office and commercial quarter with approx. 64,000 square metres gross floor space.

Project launch for the American automotive supplier DURA

The German sites of the American automotive supplier DURA AUTOMOTIVE were searching for a partner at the end of 2016, in order to develop recycling documents for the vehicle parts supplied to many European producers, as many vehicle manufacturers require such information for their recycling and sustainability strategy. The VW Group has even issued its own standard for this purpose (VW Standard 91102). On the basis of these standards and guidelines, ELOGplan has created such documents for parts varying in complexity and concluded the project at the end of 2017. The ELOGplan’s calculations are based, not only on detailed information on the recycling capability of various materials, but also on the knowledge of modern and future separation technologies and recycling rates available through these. Last but not least, ELOGplan also analyses the production process on-site in production plants (in this case, in Germany and the Czech Republic) and previous and present waste disposal of scrap parts. For DURA Automotive, there is a high certainty that they will be able to respond to future demand of manufacturers quickly.
